Fail

A routine, unannounced visit by a city health inspector.

Widespread rat droppings found in hand-washing sinks and food preparation areas.

Standout Inspection

We flagged this inspection for serious public health concerns.

Key Findings

  • Approximately 75 rat droppings discovered across multiple food stands, including inside portable hand-washing sinks and behind hot holding units. Pest control service required.
  • Multiple ready-to-eat items stored at unsafe temperatures: pico de gallo at 64°F, tomatoes ranging from 46-61°F instead of required cold holding temperatures.
  • Hand-washing sinks had inadequate hot water: one sink provided only 69°F water, another only 96°F, both below the required 100°F minimum.
  • Water leaking from ceiling onto prepackaged nacho chip boxes in one stand; non-functioning light fixture under ventilation hood in another stand.

Key findings are derived directly from the inspector's notes from the Chicago Department of Public Health. See the full violation notes below.
