Aug 31, 2026 โ€” Canvass inspection

Fail

A routine, unannounced visit by a city health inspector.

Inspectors found dozens of flies throughout the restaurant, including in food storage and prep areas.

Key Findings

  • About 20 small flies and 2-3 large flies were observed across the facility, with small fly activity in the basement dishwashing/food storage area, rear prep area, and bar. Small flies were found harboring in an opening under the handwashing sink behind the bar.
  • Unlabeled squirt bottles and containers for dry ingredients were found in the basement and main prep area.
  • A black wallbase in the storage area near the rear exit door was not smooth and created openings where pests could harbor. An opening under the handwashing sink behind the bar also posed a pest harboring risk.
  • Ventilation hood filters had heavy buildup and required cleaning and maintenance.

Key findings are derived directly from the inspector's notes from the Chicago Department of Public Health. See the full violation notes below.
