Fail

A routine, unannounced visit by a city health inspector.

Employee handled ready-to-eat food with bare hands after touching his head, then continued cooking without washing.

Standout Inspection

We flagged this inspection for serious public health concerns.

Key Findings

  • Employee handled vegetables and other foods without gloves or handwashing, wiped his head with his hands, and continued preparing food—only put on gloves later but still without washing hands first.
  • Raw eggs stored above cooked and ready-to-eat foods like vegetables, cheese, and noodles in coolers; foods not covered or protected.
  • Multiple temperature-controlled foods stored too warm: chicken at 52.1°F, shrimp at 56.5°F, eggs at 51.4°F, and others well above the 41°F requirement. Manager disposed of 63 lbs of product ($125 value).
  • Service prep cooler running at 51°F instead of required 41°F or below; ordered out of use until repaired.

Key findings are derived directly from the inspector's notes from the Chicago Department of Public Health. See the full violation notes below.
