Aug 23, 2023 — Complaint inspection

Conditional

Triggered by a public complaint about this restaurant.

Sausage patties held at dangerously low temperatures were discarded after being discovered in the steam table.

Standout Inspection

We flagged this inspection for serious public health concerns.

Key Findings

  • About 5 lbs of cooked sausage patties were held at improper temperatures (127.6–131.9°F instead of the required 135°F+) in the prep line steam table and had to be thrown out.
  • Multiple employees were working without effective hair restraints or beard guards.
  • Pre-packaged cookies on display lacked proper labeling with product name, ingredients, business name, and address.
  • Kitchen had significant cleanliness issues: dirty ice machine interior, grimy soda dispensers, extremely dirty dishwasher top, stained floor drains, debris-filled floors in prep areas and cooler, and filthy backsplash at the three-compartment sink.

Key findings are derived directly from the inspector's notes from the Chicago Department of Public Health. See the full violation notes below.
