Jun 13, 2022 — Complaint inspection

Fail

Triggered by a public complaint about this restaurant.

Approximately 40 mouse droppings found throughout food prep and storage areas; rodent infestation not addressed.

Standout Inspection

We flagged this inspection for serious public health concerns.

Key Findings

  • Severe rodent contamination: roughly 40 mouse droppings scattered across floors, under equipment, and along walls in rear prep and storage areas. Pest control service required.
  • Lamb gyro meat held at unsafe temperature (54.1°F) without heat on the spit; chicken held at 89.6°F instead of required 135°F minimum. Both items discarded during inspection.
  • Hand sink in front prep area heavily soiled and not properly sanitized. Broken toilet handles and non-flushing toilet in restrooms. Minor leak under hand sink basin.
  • Previous violations from June 2021 remain uncorrected: fryer bottoms, ice machine interior, bulk storage containers, and floors under equipment still need cleaning.

Key findings are derived directly from the inspector's notes from the Chicago Department of Public Health. See the full violation notes below.
