Aug 17, 2023 — Complaint inspection

Conditional

Triggered by a public complaint about this restaurant.

Hot-held chicken kept at 120°F instead of required 135°F; 50 lbs of food discarded.

Key Findings

  • Cooked chicken, rotisserie chicken, chicken tenders, and barbecue chicken were held at dangerously low temperatures (115-120°F) instead of the required 135°F or above. Approximately 50 pounds of food was discarded.
  • Prepared salads (macaroni, chicken, potato, and crab) were stored for more than 24 hours without date labels. About 20 pounds of unlabeled food was discarded.
  • Packaged self-service items including banana bread, cookies, cannolis, muffins, danish, and fruit lacked required labels with food name, address, net quantity, ingredients, and allergen information.
  • Wet wiping cloths were left on cutting boards in the meat department instead of being placed in sanitizing solution when not in use.

Key findings are derived directly from the inspector's notes from the Chicago Department of Public Health. See the full violation notes below.
