Jul 2, 2026 — Complaint inspection

Fail

Triggered by a public complaint about this restaurant.

Two coolers storing ready-to-eat foods reached 48-50°F instead of required 41°F; approximately 100 lbs of food discarded.

Key Findings

  • Two display coolers in the deli area held temperature-sensitive foods (cheese, sausage, chicken) at 48.1°F and 50.1°F instead of the required 41°F or below. Both units were tagged and about 100 lbs of prepared items were voluntarily discarded ($320 loss).
  • Approximately 150 or more small black live flies observed throughout deli, prepared foods, bakery, and basement prep areas on walls, paper towels, and equipment surfaces. Pest control service required.
  • Missing or broken thermometers found inside cooling units throughout the facility, preventing proper temperature monitoring.
  • Tables, equipment, floors, and walls in bakery, prepared foods, and basement prep areas had built-up dried food debris and trash, creating conditions that could harbor pests.

Key findings are derived directly from the inspector's notes from the Chicago Department of Public Health. See the full violation notes below.
