Fail

Triggered by a public complaint about this restaurant.

Inspectors found approximately 50-60 live cockroaches and 75 small flies throughout the facility across multiple floors.

Standout Inspection

We flagged this inspection for serious public health concerns.

Key Findings

  • Extensive pest infestation documented: 25 live cockroaches on first floor pastry area, 5-7 in coffee/pizza areas, 5-7 on second floor bakery, 7-10 in wine area behind espresso maker, 5-10 in dish area, plus approximately 75 small flies throughout customer areas, storage, prep areas, and warehouse.
  • Hot water failures at handwashing sinks: Customer toilet rooms on second floor ranged from 72-79°F and first floor from 68-85°F; main kitchen prep sink had no hot water available. Required minimum is 100°F.
  • One high-temperature dishwashing machine on second floor failed to meet 180°F sanitizer requirements; inspector prohibited its use until repaired.
  • Improper food storage and preparation surfaces: Milk crates and pallets used as shelving throughout prep and storage areas instead of proper 6-inch elevated shelving; cutting boards in rear prep area had open seams and dark stains.

Key findings are derived directly from the inspector's notes from the Chicago Department of Public Health. See the full violation notes below.
